I have known Kaylecia since the 5th grade, we were in the same class together our 5th grade year. We didn't become good friends until the 9th grade when we had the same PE class together and both had to switch from 2nd to 1st lunch because of it and didn't know anyone except for one another. That is how we became PE and lunch buddies! I have known Sharee since the 8th grade. We both had PE together in 8th grade and had our lockers in the same little corner. We talked every now and then during that year, but we didn't become good friends till about 10th grade. I have known who Mikyla was since the 9th grade because Sharee, Mikyla, and I all had a computer class together that year, but we didn't really know each other all that well. I didn't become good friends with Mikyla until our 10th grade year. I have known BreeAnne since her 7th and my 8th grade year. We met through Vanessa, my younger sister. We instantly clicked and got along really well. She moved to Cali after 7th grade to live with her dad, though, but we always kept in touch and I would see her when she visited her mom!
Tenth grade was a crazy year. It was the first year in high school, so it was a big transition. I remember I felt lost that year. I had a lot of different friends, but I didn't have any really close friends that were at that school that same year with me. Because Kaylecia and I had become quite good friends during the last part of ninth grade, we continued to hang out during the summer so I had met Sharee and Mikyla through her. I remember either the second or third day of the first week of high school, Kaylecia, Mikyla, and Sharee all came up to me and invited me to go to lunch with them. It was an answer to my prayers. The other friends that I had been going to lunch with prior to that weren't the people I wanted to be around anymore. I knew that we had become even more different than we were before, so I was ready for better friends. Friends I knew I could be myself around. It was after that day all four of us started hanging out a lot. We all got along really well and we had so much fun together. It wasn't until our 11th grade year and BreeAnne's 10th grade year that she decided to move back to St. George. She came to our high school and she fit right in with the rest of us.
My high school years were wonderful because these girls were a big part of it. They all were different in their own way, but all were examples to me. I have so many memories with these girls. So many fun, exciting, scary, sad, happy, spiritual, crazy moments with all of them that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
We are all now at different stages of our lives and doing different things. Our schedules don't allow us to see each other as much as I wish we could. Whenever we do get together, though, that bond is still there and it's still strong. We will always be friends & sisters at heart.
