18 Months

I've been hesitating to write this post because I wanted to wait for the right time when I knew things were official. There have been some big decisions to make, and I know this is 100% what is right for me right now. Can you guess what it is?! No, I'm not going to get hitched in Vegas and I'm not transferring to a new school! I'm going to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! My mission papers are turned in as of tonight, so I will be receiving my mission call [states where I'm going and when I'm going to leave] within the next two to three weeks? I hope! It has been a roller coaster of emotions especially these past few weeks, but I am SO excited and I know this is what I'm supposed to do.
It hasn't been an easy road getting to this point. It's a huge decision and a huge change, but one that is going to change my life for the better. Not only will it change my life for the 18 months that I'm serving, but for the rest of my life. Now, I'll just be waiting for that letter that lets me know WHERE I will serve and WHEN I will leave. Kind of a big deal? I think so.

I love this talk that explains the process of assigning missionaries to where they will serve. The talk was given at a meeting of men which is why it's geared toward the young men, but the talk applies to both men and women!
